Over five hundred twenty students now have access to a safe, appropriate and dignified learning environment. Last Wednesday, the Axian Foundation, the Kozama association, local authorities and communities of Imerintsiatosika municipality inaugurated the new infrastructure of Mandrosoa Public Primary School (EPP), as part of the Sekoly Yas program. The project includes the construction of three classrooms and a sanitary block.
Until now, EPP Mandrosoa had only two dilapidated classrooms. Due to lack of space, part of the classes were held in the village church. Faced with constantly growing enrollment, learning conditions had become untenable. The new infrastructure now allows children to learn in a safer, more appropriate and more conducive environment. It also gives teachers the opportunity to work in a setting worthy of their mission.
"Our ambition is not just to build schools. We want to create the conditions that allow each child to grow, learn and, tomorrow, act fully within their community. This conviction guides each of our programs," said Mialisoa Andrianasolo, Executive Director of the Axian Foundation.
The Kozama association will thus ensure, for three years, an educational capacity-building program covering active pedagogy training, teacher support, support for the school director's pedagogical leadership and the development of activities for preschool children. This continuity between preschool and primary aims to offer each child a coherent educational path, promoting success from the earliest years.
In parallel, the municipality, school and community have committed to maintaining the infrastructure and ensuring its proper use over time.
