How Online Legal Consultations Work
On LiveMada, legal professionals with the "Online consultation" badge are available to provide advice to both Malagasy citizens and foreigners, directly through our platform.
Communication without language barriers
All communication between you and the professional happens on this site. You write in your language, and the professional receives your message translated into their language. The professional replies in their language, and you receive the translation in yours. This eliminates misunderstandings and ensures both parties understand each other perfectly.
By keeping all conversations on the platform, both parties benefit from a complete history of the exchange. In case of a dispute, the conversation record is available for review. This protects both the client and the professional.
Payment protection for both parties
We use an escrow system to protect both the client and the professional. Here is how the payment flow works:
- You send an inquiry — describe your legal matter to the professional in your own language.
- The professional reviews and responds — they can accept your case or decline with an explanation. If they accept, they set the consultation fee.
- You pay the agreed fee — the payment is sent in USDC or USDT on the Solana network to a secure escrow wallet controlled by LiveMada. The professional is notified that your payment has been received.
- The consultation takes place — via on-site messaging, file exchange, or video call. All messages are automatically translated.
- The professional marks the consultation as completed — at this point, a 24-hour review window begins.
- After 24 hours without complaints — the payment is automatically released to the professional's wallet, minus the platform fee.
Why we use cryptocurrency
We use USDC and USDT (stablecoins pegged to the US dollar) on the Solana blockchain for all payments. This choice is deliberate:
- No bank transfer complications — international bank transfers between Madagascar and other countries can be slow, expensive, and subject to restrictions. Crypto payments arrive in seconds with minimal fees.
- Stable value — USDC and USDT are stablecoins tied 1:1 to the US dollar. Unlike volatile cryptocurrencies, their value does not fluctuate.
- Transparent escrow — every payment is visible on the blockchain. Both parties can independently verify that the funds are in escrow.
- Universal access — anyone in any country can send and receive payments without needing a traditional bank account.
Protection for the professional
The escrow system also protects the professional. Once a client sends payment to the escrow wallet, the professional is immediately notified that the funds are secured. This means the professional can begin work with confidence — the client has already committed financially. The professional will receive payment after the consultation is completed and the review window has passed.
Protection for the client
As a client, your money is held in escrow — not sent directly to the professional. If the consultation does not take place, or if there is a serious issue, you have a 24-hour window after the consultation is marked as completed to raise a complaint. If a dispute is raised, the funds remain in escrow until the matter is resolved.
