The serious business begins in two days for the 233,538 candidates of the 2026 baccalaureate. The 2026 baccalaureate session will kick off in two days. On Monday, July 20, 2026, 233,538 candidates will line up to face the written examinations. A major surveillance and security apparatus has been deployed across the entire national territory. According to the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research (MESUPRES), agents from this ministry at regional level will be mobilized to ensure supervision work and strengthen field teams. Similarly, a partnership has been concluded between MESUPRES and the Ministry of Interior and Decentralization (MID), sealed by the signing of a partnership agreement between the two parties on July 16, 2026. This is part of securing the 2026 baccalaureate session across the entire territory, before, during and after the session. This includes strengthening the involvement of prefects and regional chiefs, district chiefs and decentralized territorial authorities, as well as mobilizing Mixed Design Bodies (OMC) to ensure substantial field work in terms of exam security throughout the entire process.

Free Transport

On Monday, examination centers will open to the 233,538 candidates registered for the 2026 baccalaureate examination, of which 222,679 are for general education baccalaureate and 10,859 for technical, technological and professional baccalaureate. According to the latest news, candidates from Antananarivo will benefit from free transport provided by the President of the Refoundation of the Republic of Madagascar. Thus, upon presentation of their admission notice, candidates will be able to board Foton buses deployed in partnership with the Urban Municipality of Antananarivo (CUA) during the baccalaureate session, from July 20-24, 2026, then July 27-30, 2026 for the second part of the technical, technological and professional baccalaureate.
