Following an elective general assembly, Tanteliarimiza Rakotomalala, founder of the Becom agency, has been elected to lead Women Entrepreneurs of the Analamanga region. A recognition for someone who has always defined herself first and foremost as an entrepreneur. "By accepting this responsibility, I fully measure the scope of the task ahead of us. A strong commitment to a community of women who undertake, create, innovate, take risks and contribute daily to advancing our economy," declared the founder of Becom on social media.

Tanteliarimiza Rakotomalala will head the women entrepreneurs of Analamanga until 2028. She succeeds Sandy Randria De Tsararay, who presided over the FEA between 2024 and 2026.

Tanteliarimiza Rakotomalala's ambitions were announced immediately. "Create more opportunities, accelerate more businesses and bring forth more prosperous, influential and inspiring women entrepreneurs, capable of becoming tomorrow's economic champions," she announced.

These ambitions crystallize a lifetime of commitment for Tanteliarimiza Rakotomalala, who has transformed the landscape of female entrepreneurship. In recent years, both in Madagascar and worldwide, female entrepreneurship has experienced spectacular growth.

However, female entrepreneurship still faces numerous challenges. According to the World Economic Forum, startups and SMEs led by women capture only 2% of global financing. In Africa, the figures are more nuanced. It is the continent with the highest rate of female entrepreneurship in the world. One in four women (26%) launches or manages a business. Yet women face a financing deficit estimated at 42 billion US dollars due to institutional and social barriers.

According to the World Economic Forum's gender gap report, 21.6% of Malagasy businesses are majority-owned by women and 28.2% are led by a woman. Tanteliarimiza Rakotomalala intends to transform the landscape in Madagascar.
