BACCALAUREATE 2026 - Phones Banned from Exam Halls
Baccalaureate exam candidates will not be allowed to enter examination centers with a mobile phone. This device is strictly prohibited in exam halls. "Phones must under no circumstances be brought into the examination center. Any violator will face immediate sanctions," declared the president of the University of Antananarivo, Professor Rivoarison Randrianasolo, yesterday, during a press conference on preparations for the exam taking place from Monday, July 20 to Friday, July 24, 2026, for the general baccalaureate. This ban aims particularly to prevent fraud risks. During the 2024 session, candidates were caught consulting their phones during exams. In their scheme, candidates photographed exam questions, then sent the image to another person who would process all instructions and send the answers back to the candidate. Candidates' phones were confiscated during the exams. These measures were applied in all examination centers across the island. Other measures: it is strictly forbidden to remain and eat in exam halls. Furthermore, candidates are not allowed to move around with their rough drafts within the examination center. Professor Rivoarison Randrianasolo stated that no leniency will be granted to candidates who fail to respect discipline during exams.
