A robbery occurred on the road connecting Ankisabe and Tamponala last Monday. According to reports, a man heading to sell gold was attacked and robbed of approximately 250,000 Ariary by criminals. Police from the Ankisabe district were alerted around 10 a.m. and rushed to the scene. Officers found an injured person at the location. A local merchant who had gone to purchase gold was attacked on his motorcycle. According to his account, one person attacked him, apparently having targeted him previously.
