Ten individuals have been arrested. Among them are small-time dealers who had been causing concern to residents of the Ambohimangakely area and surrounding regions. They were all caught in police operations over recent days, with both fish thieves and fish buyers and sellers apprehended. According to police information, the arrests stemmed from an investigation into a house break-in. During interrogations on serious charges, police conducted searches and made significant discoveries. During one of these searches, a person was found hiding on the premises. The location was immediately secured and multiple packages of fish were found in a vehicle. The vehicle was seized and those involved claimed the goods were stolen. They did not act alone during this period, as they had numerous accomplices. Clearly, police arrested all their associates, along with individuals already receiving the goods they had obtained. Police operations continued and it was not long before each of them was arrested. All those arrested were found to be in possession of fish goods, according to current reports. It is noted that all of them are based in Ambohidehilahy. The fish goods buyers, meanwhile, come from Imerinkasinina, Ambohitrombihavana, Andranovao, Ambatotokana and Ambohidehilahy, all within the Ambohimangakely commune. All ten individuals were taken into custody and placed under police supervision for further investigation and prosecution. It is expected that the situation in the area will be further clarified following this police operation.
