A fire broke out due to an electrical short circuit. Around 7 p.m. on Friday, a large house in the Tsaralalàna Fiata district caught fire. The blaze started on the second floor and is believed to have been caused by an electrical short circuit. An elderly man perished in the flames. Twelve families, comprising approximately 53 people, were affected. While some family members managed to escape and seek shelter, others found themselves without a home after the fire destroyed their residence. Twenty-two people were left homeless and remain distressed and traumatized. Firefighting efforts were complicated by the house's location in a densely populated area, which delayed their arrival. Despite the proximity of fire stations, residents assisted in extinguishing the flames due to these access difficulties.
