Maritime Security: Expanded Participation for July 15-17 Workshop
Maritime security will be at the heart of this workshop. The national workshop on maritime governance and security, scheduled for July 15-17, 2026 at Maroroha Tsimbazaza, is generating unprecedented enthusiasm. Initially configured for a more restricted committee, this major event will ultimately bring together more than a hundred participants at the Maritime Information Fusion Centre. This exceptional mobilization brings together representatives from public administrations, defense and security forces, as well as maritime organizations and various technical partners. Such attendance demonstrates growing institutional interest in maritime cooperation and offers a unique opportunity to stimulate inter-institutional dialogue. Participants will be able to share their best practices to consolidate a highly coordinated approach to current maritime challenges facing the Great Island. Organized jointly by the Malagasy National Navy and the CFIM, this workshop benefits from the strategic support of the Indian Ocean Commission and the European CRIMARIO project. This international collaboration illustrates a strong collective commitment to building effective, integrated and sustainable governance in the western Indian Ocean.
