During the presentation of new construction sector standards, Madagascar's Ministry of Technical Education and Vocational Training officially unveiled twelve new occupational and training frameworks dedicated to the building and public works sector. Developed in close collaboration with the National Employment and Training Council in Construction, France Éducation International, and the French Development Agency, these innovative tools will now serve as the foundation for modernizing curricula in technical secondary schools and vocational training centers across the country. The fundamental objective of this initiative is to precisely align learners' theoretical and practical skills with the demanding realities of the job market. These new frameworks are entirely based on a competency-based approach, an international method focused on needs expressed directly by employers in the sector. According to Minister Todisoa Andriamampandry, this major reform will significantly strengthen employability and youth integration into essential trades such as mason, carpenter, and plumber.
