Traffic Diversion at Petite Vitesse Entrance
Traffic is suspended on Rainibetsimisaraka Street, between Tana Plaza Hotel and Poste Malagasy Petite Vitesse. "This measure will remain in effect until September 19, as part of water main installation works carried out under the second phase of the Integrated Sanitation Program for Antananarivo (PIAA2)," stated the Urban Municipality of Antananarivo (CUA) in a statement released last week. The works involve the closure of a strategic route and temporary reorganization of taxi-be itineraries. To minimize disruptions, the CUA has implemented traffic reorganization measures. The taxi-be stop at Shalimar Tsaralalàna has been relocated to Roso Ambatomena. Provisional terminals for lines 105 and 114 are now located in front of Tana Plaza Hotel. Traffic has also been rearranged in the sector. The road connecting Galana Tsaralalàna to Ucodis is temporarily converted to two-way traffic, while the street leading to Isotry from Shalimar is now one-way. Several taxi-be line routes have been modified throughout the work period. Vehicles operating the Soarano–Ampefiloha service will pass through Hôtel Mellis Analakely, Pompier Tsaralalàna, Galana, Ucodis and Isotry before resuming their usual route. Line 133 taxi-be (Ambodifilao–Itaosy) will now use Hôtel Mellis, Roso Ambatomena, Ambohidahy tunnel and Titsy Ambanin'Ambohitsorohitra Street. Line 110 vehicles (Analakely–Anosizato) will transit through Ampasamadinika (Sakamanga), Titsy Ambanin'Ambohitsorohitra Street and Ampefiloha before returning to their regular route. The CUA notes that law enforcement personnel will be deployed on site to regulate traffic and guide users.
