The African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) is establishing a digital gateway to facilitate Malagasy businesses' access to commercial information and opportunities in the African market. The creation of value is the stated objective of this new digital platform set up under the AfCFTA framework. Designed for Malagasy exporters and importers, this platform aims to centralize commercial information and facilitate businesses' access to opportunities offered by the African market. Until now, information useful to economic operators was scattered across multiple administrations and organizations. This new platform consolidates this data at a single access point, allowing entrepreneurs to more easily learn about procedures, regulations, and opportunities related to international trade. "Commercial information was previously difficult to obtain because it was spread across multiple platforms. This digital gateway will provide a single space bringing together all information useful to entrepreneurs," explained Holy Randriamifidy, Director of Research and Economic Integration at the Ministry of Commerce and Consumer Affairs, during the official presentation of the platform yesterday at the Colbert Hotel in Antaninarenina. Beyond information access, the platform will also allow exporters to report online the obstacles and trade barriers they encounter. An important step. "Information can be published online and will be accessible not only to Madagascar, but also to partners and international entrepreneurs wishing to collaborate with Malagasy businesses," emphasized Heriniaina Ramananarivo, coordinator of the AfCFTA Implementation Support Project in Madagascar. This initiative benefits from support from the African Development Bank through the AfCFTA Implementation Support Project. It addresses both public and private sector actors, with the objective of strengthening the competitiveness of Malagasy businesses and enabling them to better leverage the African single market.
