Hydroelectric Projects As his name suggests, the General Director of Tozzi Green Madagascar is Italian. He has over a quarter century of international experience managing energy projects and large-scale infrastructure in Africa, Latin America and Asia. For the past five years, he has been in Madagascar, where he leads the company's strategy and operations across its various business pillars – renewable energy, agriculture and construction – with particular expertise in developing hydroelectric projects from design to commissioning. 2030 Horizon During yesterday's meeting at the company's headquarters in Ivato, Davide Giachero emphasized that "Tozzi Green is one of the leading private investors in the renewable energy sector in Madagascar." With 47 MW of installed capacity and three hydroelectric plants located respectively in Sahanivotry, Maroantsetra and Farahantsana. "Connecting territories to transform lives." This is one of the company's missions, which aims to become "the largest private energy producer after Jirama by 2030." Food Sovereignty In sustainable agriculture, Tozzi Green operates 6,000 hectares, including 4,000 hectares reforested and 2,000 hectares cultivated. To prevent this large-scale sustainable agriculture from going up in smoke, the company contributes to fighting bushfires. "We have firefighters on site," reports the country director. He recalls the main activities of Tozzi Green: rehabilitation and reforestation of degraded lands; cultivation of climate-resilient seeds and vegetables for local markets; and, last but not least, production of premium essential oils and spices mainly for export. Tozzi Green aims to "reconcile soil preservation and food sovereignty." Davide Giachero states that "our objective is to leave each territory stronger than we found it."
