A three-day workshop is underway in Andakana. The Ministry of Youth and Sports (MJS) is in the final stretch of the major National Youth Consultation. Minister Alain Désiré Rasambany announced yesterday in Andakana that preparatory work is well advanced and the final restitution should take place at the end of July in Antananarivo, barring any last-minute changes. To finalize this unprecedented participatory process, three-day workshops are currently being held in Andakana. They bring together representatives of the MJS, youth delegates from Madagascar's 24 regions—who make up the national organizing committee—as well as numerous institutional partners: ministries of Reform, National Education, Scientific Research, Population, and other civil society actors. "The objective of these workshops is to thoroughly examine the various proposals and themes submitted by young people from the 24 regions, carry out the necessary technical work, and synthesize all ideas before the major final meeting," explained Minister Alain Désiré Rasambany. An expert committee has been established, composed of technicians specialized in synthesizing and enhancing proposals. Following this work, youth representatives from all regions, as well as those from the Malagasy diaspora, are expected to come to Madagascar to participate in this national restitution. Already, the initial directions emerging from the consultation reveal strong expectations: institutional reform, consolidation of the electoral process, development of the economic and education sectors, as well as greater youth involvement in national affairs, entrepreneurship, and social action.
