Djivà uses music as a vehicle to promote Malagasy culture and identity. Recognized with the "Coup de cœur" award from the Sorakanto Cultural Journalists Association at Fanilo Voice 2026, Djivà aims to make her music an ambassador for Malagasy culture on the international stage.
For Djivà, music transcends vocal performance. It is a means of transmitting identity, culture, and heritage. Winner of the "Press Favorite" award at Fanilo Voice 2026, the artist is determined to carry Madagascar's colors far beyond its borders.
Born Niaina Camille Rajaonarivony in Antsirabe, Djivà has been passionate about music since childhood, immersed in it from age two. "Music is the only field that allows me to convey messages through songs and connect with music enthusiasts," she explains.
Fanilo Voice 2026 marked a turning point in her career. She describes the experience as "a real challenge and test." Receiving the press award represents immense pride for her. "The press is a major player that can make my work and who I am known," she emphasizes. Her goal was also to share her identity and highlight Malagasy culture on stage—a challenge she believes she met based on the reception her performances received.
This Malagasy identity expressed itself both in her repertoire and attire. "I am Malagasy. I live according to the heritage passed down by my ancestors. Traditions, faith, and culture hold an essential place in my daily life and on stage," she affirms.
Today, Djivà views this recognition as a stepping stone to new projects. With her band, she wants to strengthen Malagasy culture's place in her creations through "Multivers," the musical style she is developing. Her ambition is to soon introduce her compositions to a wider audience.
However, the artist faces a significant obstacle. Her band has secured several contracts in Réunion through bassist Patrick Persée, an international musician based on the island, but these opportunities remain out of reach due to lack of financial means to cover travel and administrative procedures.
