The restitution and validation workshop on opportunities offered by the AfCFTA to women entrepreneurs represents an important step in Madagascar's integration process into the African free trade zone. From theory to concrete action. However, like the thousands of workshops organized so far, covering practically all sectors of activity, this type of exercise represents only a starting point. The real challenge will indeed be the effective implementation of recommendations and their adoption by the relevant administrations, the private sector, and technical and financial partners. In any case, in the Malagasy context, where women already play a major role in trade, craftsmanship, agribusiness, and small and medium enterprises, better integration of the gender dimension into Madagascar's national AfCFTA strategy could contribute not only to reducing economic inequalities, but also to increasing business competitiveness and the country's exports. Viewed from this angle, this initiative of the Support Program for AfCFTA Implementation in Madagascar is promising, provided, of course, that the actors in the integration process demonstrate their capacity to transform the study's recommendations into concrete, financed, and time-evaluated actions. In any case, it will only be after the effective implementation of the recommendations from this workshop that women entrepreneurs will be able to fully benefit from the advantages of the AfCFTA. In short, the series of recommendations focusing notably on capacity building, improving the business environment, facilitating access to financing, and supporting companies in their internationalization process is called upon to produce concrete results, if and only if it is followed by concrete actions on the ground.
