The General Assembly of the Coalition of Radios Madagascar held a two-day meeting in Antaninarenina. Founded in 2014, this organization works to promote peace, security, and human rights. It also aims to strengthen capacities and support member radio stations throughout the country.

Participants assessed the difficulties faced by radios and defined strategies for the Coalition to address them.

"Among the main challenges mentioned are outdated equipment and technical failures, particularly transmitters. Many radios face this problem and struggle to replace these materials, which are often imported and expensive. Low advertising revenues also hinder station development, as does the lack of qualified personnel, particularly technicians and professional journalists. The decline in the number of advertisers further reduces radio financial resources, while competition from social networks increasingly impacts their audience," said Mbolatiana Raveloarimisa, executive secretary of the Coalition of Radios Madagascar.

Information processing remains facing numerous challenges in Madagascar. "It is precisely to address these difficulties that the Coalition of Radios for Peace exists. It aims to strengthen radio competencies and improve the quality of content they produce," explained Mbolatiana Raveloarimisa.

The organization intends to strengthen its advocacy with authorities to improve operating conditions for radios and guarantee the Malagasy public better quality information.

The Coalition currently has 98 radios distributed across all regions of Madagascar.
