The Independent National Electoral Commission (CENI) officially launched the Permanent Consultation Platform (Sehatra Ifampidinihana Maharitra) yesterday at its headquarters in Alarobia. This body brings together political parties, civil society organizations, media outlets, and relevant government departments to support preparations for upcoming elections. CENI President Thierry Rakotonarivo emphasized that the Commission's work will be guided by three principles: "respect for the law, transparency, and inclusion." "We cannot work without dialogue," he stated, noting that this platform will enable exchanges at each stage of the electoral process. Electoral Reforms Discussions focused on revising the electoral roll and modernizing the electoral register. CENI plans voter registration through home visits, registrations at fokontany offices, mobile counters in high-traffic areas, online registration, and integration of newly eligible voters upon issuance of their first national identity card (CIN). The Commission also announced that registration operations will begin on July 28, 2026. Proposals from consultations on electoral reforms will be submitted to competent authorities and the FFKM, while the report will be made public on the CENI website.
