Music as a bridge between Seoul and Antananarivo. On the occasion of the 10th anniversary of the opening of the Republic of Korea's embassy in Madagascar, the Korean diplomatic mission held an exceptional concert of traditional Korean music on July 4th at the Novotel, launching a year of celebrations. The evening was marked by performances from the SANARE group. Before representatives of the Malagasy government, the diplomatic corps, and numerous guests, SANARE artists offered a genuine musical journey into Korean culture. The show blended traditional instruments, dance, song, and narration inspired by ancient Korean legends, revisited with a resolutely contemporary approach. Speaking at the occasion, the Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to Madagascar, Park Ji-hyun, emphasized the symbolic significance of this anniversary. "Through this concert, the embassy pays tribute to the bonds of friendship between Korea and Madagascar, and to our future relationship. Ten years of embassy opening is also ten years of shared emotions with the Malagasy people, and we are delighted to celebrate this milestone in music with the government of Madagascar," she declared. Beyond its cultural dimension, this evening recalled the progress made since the official opening of the Korean diplomatic mission in Madagascar in 2016. Over a decade, relations between the two countries have progressively strengthened in several areas, notably cooperation, economic exchanges, and cultural initiatives. The SANARE concert thus constitutes the first event in a commemorative calendar that promises to be particularly rich. The embassy plans notably the organization of Korean film screenings and a business forum.
