The Tiako I Madagasikara (TIM) party celebrated its 24th anniversary on Saturday, July 4, 2026, officially launching its silver jubilee celebrations. The ceremony began with a religious service at the residence of former president Marc Ravalomanana, the party's founder, who established TIM on July 3, 2002.
In his address, Ravalomanana emphasized that despite the simplicity of the celebration, it symbolizes "the perseverance of our faith, our unity and our love for Madagascar." He stressed that for 24 years, TIM has remained faithful to its founding values: Faith, Truth and sanctity.
The party founder reflected on TIM's journey, recalling his seven years leading the country and the numerous challenges faced afterward. According to him, the party remains strong because it is built on principles, organization and public trust, rather than on a single person.
Ravalomanana presented his vision for Madagascar's future, advocating for greater openness toward Southern African countries, believing regional cooperation is key to national development. "Mutual trust is the foundation of development," he stated, emphasizing that the goal is not to share poverty but to create wealth through work, production and innovation.
When asked about a possible candidacy in the next election, the former head of state did not confirm his intentions. However, he stressed the importance of transmitting a development vision focused on regional integration and preparing youth capable of dreaming, innovating and building the future.
TIM's 24th anniversary celebrations will continue in several districts and regions across the country, with Ravalomanana meeting with activists as part of activities marking the opening of the party's silver jubilee.
