Candidates taking the Brevet d'études du premier cycle (BEPC) and Brevet d'études professionnelles (BEP) will benefit from free transportation during the four-day examination period. From July 6 to 9, the State is deploying a special system in Antananarivo. A total of eighty-four Foton buses will operate on twenty-one routes to serve twenty examination centers, including five for BEP and fifteen for BEPC. The vehicles will use regular routes without any modifications.
This initiative implements the vision of the President of the Refoundation of the Republic, Colonel Michaël Randrianirina. "This initiative responds to the instructions of the President of the Refoundation of the Republic. It aims to support the population, particularly parents with children taking the BEPC and BEP. The objective is to ease family difficulties and provide greater peace of mind to candidates, who are often worried about arriving late due to traffic congestion," explained Feno Ralambomanana, President of the Special Delegation (PDS) of the Urban Municipality of Antananarivo, during a press conference held yesterday at Analakely.
Bus departures are scheduled between 5:00 and 6:10 a.m. Vehicles will be positioned at departure points from 5:00 a.m. After the exams, return service will be provided from 5:00 p.m. to various departure points. "This is assistance, but it is not mandatory," clarified the PDS.
Conditions
The relevant authorities are jointly implementing this system. "This measure was taken to protect children. We call on all public transport operators to fully fulfill their mission," stated Todisoa Andriamampandry, Minister of Technical Education and Professional Training.
Access to the buses is subject to certain conditions. Candidates must present their examination admission ticket. Each candidate may be accompanied by only one adult. Transportation is entirely free and vehicles will be identified with the marking "EXAMENS," specified Sendra Nirina Rajaonarison, Minister of National Education.
In support of families, the public gardens of Anosy, Ambohijatovo, Analakely, and Antaninarenina will also be open to welcome candidates and their companions. "This initiative aims to guarantee a welcoming space for candidates so they can study and eat their meals in complete safety," emphasized Feno Ralambomanana.
