For five days, all key players in Madagascar's justice system will gather at Ivato. The countdown has begun. Ahead of the national consultation under the aegis of the Christian Council of Churches of Madagascar (FFKM), the judicial sector is taking the initiative. The Ministry of Justice is organizing, from July 6-10 next, at the Sheraton Hotel in Ivato, a major sectoral consultation. The momentum of national refoundation is accelerating and no sector wants to be left behind. After education, the military, territorial planning and the Independent National Electoral Commission (CENI), it is now the turn of the judicial world to conduct its introspection. For five days, the Sheraton Hotel in Ivato will be the rallying point for all key actors in Madagascar's justice system. Magistrates, court clerks, bailiffs, notaries, lawyers and representatives of the prison administration will gather around the same table.

Preparing for Change

The objective of this major consultation? To diagnose without complacency the ills plaguing the system, harmonize professional practices and, above all, propose concrete reform pathways. In a context where citizens are increasingly demanding equitable and accessible justice, this Ivato meeting promises to be crucial for restoring confidence in institutions. Beyond a simple sectoral assessment, these assizes carry highly strategic importance. They constitute, in fact, a major preparatory stage for the future national conference. For the Ministry of Justice, the goal is to modernize the judicial apparatus so it aligns with the realities of a society in full transformation. Resolutions

This approach follows consultations already conducted with young people and the nation's vital forces. The stakes are high: to compile and synthesize the deep aspirations born from the events of September and October 2025. Like other ministerial departments, Justice is thus laying its own milestones to establish the foundations of Refoundation. It remains to be seen whether the resolutions emerging from Ivato will meet the expectations for change of a population eager to see a genuine break with past practices. All eyes are now on the Sheraton.
