Private Schools: State Grants 50,000 Ariary Per Teacher
During the launch of teacher subsidies in private schools yesterday in Anosy, the Malagasy government is reviving its support for private education. A total budget of 1,793,600,000 ariary will be deployed to support 35,872 teachers across 5,744 schools throughout Madagascar. Each will receive an annual allocation of 50,000 ariary. This subsidy program, which had not been renewed since 2024, shows increased numbers this year. The first phase began in the Analamanga region, already reaching 15,014 beneficiaries, according to the regional director of National Education, Rivo Randriantsoa. The education minister, Sendra Nirina Rajaonarison, assured that distribution will gradually extend to other regions to guarantee "quality education for future generations." The process remains open: eligible institutions have until July 31 to submit their files to the CISCO. However, allocation is strict. Only teachers holding official teaching authorization are eligible, with promises of rigorous controls to prevent any misuse.
