Last Thursday, a 25-year-old man living in Ambohijafy Fenoarivo, a Bajaj driver from Analavory, was arrested by police in Ambohidratrimo for stealing a Bajaj. According to reports, he had taken the vehicle from Analavory and was heading towards Ampangabe junction in Ambohidratrimo district when apprehended. The driver, who regularly substitutes for other drivers and typically takes the vehicle each morning from its owner on Thursday, did not go to work as planned. Instead, he fled to the capital with all the documents. When the owner reported the theft to police, an investigation was immediately launched. The vehicle had passed through Fenoarivo around 5 a.m. Thursday, but due to all proper documentation in order, it passed through without issue. It was reported that he headed towards Soalandy, Ankadivory in Alakamisy commune. The case was registered and he was tracked by motorcycle. Witnesses reported seeing him pick up a passenger, then heading towards Ampangabe in Ambohidratrimo district. Around 3 p.m., he was caught at Ampangabe junction and the Bajaj was recovered. He did not escape far, as police accompanied the vehicle's owner. The suspect was arrested on the spot and taken to the police station for questioning and processing. The vehicle has since been returned to its owner.
