Swift action by the National Police thwarted an assault and led to the arrest of two suspected robbers in the Anosibe district, an area where banditry and violent theft are increasingly alarming residents. On Wednesday, around 3:30 a.m., officers from the Urban Intervention Company (CUI3) on night patrol heard distress calls near the railway offices in Anosibe. Police immediately rushed to the scene and caught two individuals attempting to rob a passerby. Thanks to their rapid response, the assault was stopped before the perpetrators could succeed. The two suspects were subdued and arrested on the spot. Placed in custody, they are now under investigation to determine the exact circumstances of the incident and establish whether they may be involved in similar crimes. This arrest comes amid a surge in robberies in the Anosibe sector and surrounding areas.
