Civil Society Demands Greater Transparency on EU Economic Partnership Agreement
The new economic partnership agreement (EPA) signed yesterday in Balaclava between the European Union and four Indian Ocean states—including Comoros, Madagascar, Mauritius, and Seychelles—has raised concerns among civil society. Several civil society organizations are denouncing the opacity of these EPAs and calling for greater transparency regarding Madagascar's commitments. They are demanding the opening of a national debate involving farmers, professional organizations, and other stakeholders.
