EDUCATION - Private Sector Teachers Receive State Allowances
Resumption of subsidies for private sector teachers. The Ministry of National Education announced yesterday the distribution of subsidies granted to teachers in private schools. "Private establishments received this aid for the last time in 2024. We are renewing it this year, because private education shares the responsibility and duty to support every Malagasy child," declared Lanto Patrick Razafimahefa, director of the National Office of Private Education (ONEP), during the official launch of the distribution at the Ministry of National Education in Anosy yesterday. This aid is exclusively for teachers holding a teaching authorization. In total, 35,872 teachers distributed across 5,744 schools throughout the 23 regions of the island are concerned. The total envelope amounts to 1,793,600,000 MGA, representing an allocation of 50,000 ariary per teacher. This initiative begins in the Analamanga region, benefiting 15,014 private school teachers. The distribution will then extend to other regions. "The objective of this public aid is to guarantee every student better access to quality education," according to the ministry.
