Public and private stakeholders gathered in Antananarivo to discuss rural electrification strategy. Access to electricity remains a major development challenge in Madagascar, particularly in rural areas still heavily affected by energy deficits. To address this, a national roundtable was held in Antananarivo, bringing together ADER, the Ministry of Energy and Hydrocarbons (MEH), GIZ/PERER, and several technical and private partners. Roadmap As part of the M300 initiative, ADER proposes a new approach based on operator zoning, with solutions tailored to each territory: mini-grids for areas with economic potential, intermediate networks or nanogrids, and solar kits for the most isolated localities. The roadmap also emphasizes strengthening public-private partnerships and mobilizing investments to build a more inclusive energy system. The goal is to make rural electrification a sustainable development lever for the entire territory.
