The RSE & IDD fair officially opened its 10th edition yesterday in Ivandry. This edition brings together for two days public authorities, the private sector, international partners, civil society organizations, academia and young people around a shared ambition: to make sustainability a genuine lever for competitiveness, innovation and development for the country. Launched in 2016, the fair's first edition aimed to create a dialogue space around a concept still little known in Madagascar. Since its creation, the fair has welcomed over 12,000 participants, more than 260 exhibitors, and over 90 conferences, workshops and sharing sessions. Imperial Brands Madagascar, which brings together the subsidiaries SOCTAM, SITAM, SACIMEM and PROMODIM, is among the participants. Its voluntary CSR approach is built around eight global pillars distributed across three major axes: environment, social and governance. To drive this ambition, the unique "People & Planet" committee now coordinates sixty-nine high-impact local projects. Furthermore, the flagship initiative called "Madagasikarantsika", conducted in partnership with the Ministry of Environment since 2021, creates botanical parks of 120 hectares. This project generates real socio-economic benefits for hundreds of households and sustainably restores local biodiversity.
