With "Pierrot Men. Fofon'aina," Hakanto Contemporary in Tanjombato dedicates its fourth season to one of the major figures in contemporary Malagasy art and photography, from July 4 to February 2027. This exhibition aims to highlight over fifty years of artistic creation and offer a renewed perspective on a career that has profoundly shaped the country's visual memory. Nearly 500 prints, personal archives, emblematic works, and a significant collection of previously unpublished images never before shown publicly. The exhibition also reveals a lesser-known dimension of the artist's journey: his early paintings, created during his initial artistic moments, allow viewers to approach Pierrot Men beyond a purely photographic lens. Presented to the public for the first time, these works are not a detour. They appear as an origin. A key to understanding. A necessary comprehension of a singular artistic path.
