An Orange MEA delegation was received yesterday by the President of the Refoundation, Colonel Michaël Randrianirina. Digital development and the expansion of telecommunications infrastructure are among the key drivers to support the country's economic and social transformation. It is in this perspective that the President of the Refoundation of the Republic, Colonel Michaël Randrianirina, received on Wednesday, July 1st, 2026, at the State Palace of Iavoloha, the Chief Executive Officer of Orange Middle East and Africa, Yasser Shaker, accompanied by the Chief Executive Officer of Orange Madagascar, Aminata Ndiaye Niang. According to stakeholders, this meeting addressed major issues related to telecommunications development and accelerating digital transformation in Madagascar. For Malagasy authorities, these sectors constitute strategic priorities due to their direct impact on human development, economic growth, social progress, and territorial development. Confirmed commitment. Through Orange Madagascar, the Orange group intends to continue its commitment alongside the country. The operator emphasizes an approach based on collaboration with authorities, institutional partners, NGOs, associations, and local communities. The objective is to promote broader digital inclusion while contributing to the empowerment of populations, particularly young people, children, and vulnerable women. This commitment is reflected notably through the deployment of Orange Digital Centers. These spaces, already established at Soarano Station, the University of Fianarantsoa, and the University of Antsiranana, are being set up at the University of Antananarivo. They offer free digital training and encourage innovation and entrepreneurship among young people. The initiative is set to gradually expand to other regions. Added to this are Digital Houses, dedicated to women's empowerment, and Digital Schools, focused on equal opportunities. Following the discussions, Orange MEA reaffirmed its commitment to remain a trusted partner, engaged long-term alongside Madagascar. The group also renewed its ambition to continue investments in digital infrastructure, particularly fiber, national backbone, and coverage expansion.
