Since May 8, Serge Imbeh Jovial has served as provisional judicial administrator of the Sodiat group by decision of the Anti-Corruption Unit (PAC). He emphasizes that his mission is limited in time and strictly regulated.
Appointed provisional judicial administrator of the Sodiat group on May 8 by the Anti-Corruption Unit (PAC), Serge Imbeh Jovial held a press conference Thursday in Antanimena. He stressed the strictly temporary nature of his mission. In a context marked by questions about the group's future, he seeks to clarify the scope of his intervention: transitional management, not a takeover. "The appointment has already been made, the path is set. It's provisional for the group's operations," he stated, recalling that his role falls within a legal framework limited and regulated by the judicial authority.
At the heart of this provisional administration lies a key clarification: no transfer of ownership or power of disposal over assets. The judicial administrator is categorical about the limits of his mandate. "I cannot sell assets, I cannot sell property, even if there is an offer to buy the Pradon building," he explained.
This position aims to dispel any confusion about the nature of the PAC's intervention, as 29 companies are affected by this measure. The stated objective is "continuity of activities and preservation of assets during a sensitive period."
Job Preservation
During this transition phase, the stated priority remains group stability and safeguarding its operations. Actions taken aim to prevent any deterioration of the financial and social situation of the entities concerned. "Preserving assets means ensuring that property does not diminish and is maintained," he emphasized.
Beyond property aspects, the social dimension holds a central place. Job preservation is a major axis of the mission, in a context where certain activities are already slowing. "It is about maintaining employees during recovery efforts, until the situation is clarified. The objective is that no employee leaves, including those on technical unemployment," he specified.
On governance, the judicial administrator insists on transparency. A management plan has been developed and regular reports are submitted to competent authorities, including the Anti-Corruption Unit (PAC) and the Intelligence and Investigation Service (RI). These documents allow monitoring of the situation's evolution, difficulties encountered, particularly related to frozen accounts, and progress made in managing the group.
This intervention raises major economic and social issues. With 29 companies involved, the stakes go beyond simple crisis management: it is about maintaining a fragile balance between economic continuity, job protection, and asset preservation. "My motivations in this mission are job creation, asset preservation, and company development."
