The third edition of the Mahajanga Economic Actors Forum (SAEM), originally scheduled for 2025, has been moved up to this year due to the political situation. This economic and commercial event is organized by the Mahajanga Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI). The organizing committee, headed by president Mourad Eustratiou, plans a special edition from August 20-23 at the headquarters of the Mahajanga-Be Chamber of Commerce and Industry. This was announced at a press conference held at the Chamber last week.
The Economic Actors Forum is a hub of opportunities to invest, share, innovate, and develop together. The objective is to meet partners and decision-makers. The event provides an opportunity to promote products and services, as well as develop networks and business relationships.
"This year, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry has chosen themes to highlight high-potential sectors in the Boeny region. For this 3rd edition, the selected fields are infrastructure, energy, and urban development. These themes were chosen to encourage public and private actors to implement an efficient strategy regarding quality employment, housing, infrastructure, and basic services. Thematic conferences will be developed by panelists," declared Mourad Eustratiou.
The municipality of Mahajanga, along with representatives of decentralized technical services (STD), including the surveying service, will present on urban development. Officials from Jirama and energy production companies will be invited to develop the energy theme.
"Public-private partnership is important for economic development. Improving research and development is necessary for the benefit of the population," emphasized regional chief Nasolo Adakalo during his remarks.
The last edition took place in 2024 and focused on "Tourism and transport: pillars of sustainable regional development." Around one hundred exhibitors participated in the 2nd edition in 2024. This year, organizers expect maximum participation from the private sector.
