Airtel Madagascar is strengthening its commitment to Malagasy communities. Through the Airtel Africa Foundation, the company has donated school furniture to Lycée Jacques Rabemananjara in Toamasina. This initiative continues the solidarity efforts undertaken by the operator following Cyclone Gezani, which severely impacted Toamasina and several regions of the East Coast four months ago.

Reconstruction Phase
Recall that in the weeks following the disaster, Airtel Madagascar mobilized alongside affected populations through donations of essential supplies and support for emergency efforts. The company had committed to accompanying communities through the reconstruction phase. This commitment is now being realized through the equipping of five classrooms at Lycée Jacques Rabemananjara with student desks, blackboards, cabinets, tables and chairs for teachers. Airtel Madagascar also contributed to improving the school environment by painting the external fence of the establishment.

250 Students
This contribution complements classroom renovation work carried out by SPAT, as part of a partnership based on a shared ambition: to provide young people in the country's economic capital with safer, more dignified learning conditions conducive to success. Nearly 250 students will directly benefit from this improvement to their school environment. The project's impact will extend further, as Lycée Jacques Rabemananjara is also an official examination center hosting hundreds of candidates annually for the BEPC and Baccalauréat.

"When Cyclone Gezani struck Toamasina, we responded immediately. We also committed to supporting reconstruction.
