No one was spared, not even a single person! Over the weekend, a tomb in Morafenokely, Tsiroanomandidy was broken into. Criminals completely looted all the remains inside. According to reports, a cattle herder passing nearby discovered the incident and immediately alerted the community. The tomb entrance had been forced open and clothes inside were found scattered. The tomb owner and local authorities quickly arrived to assess the situation. It was confirmed that all the ancestors in the tomb had been stolen by the criminals. Only some cloth was left behind. Approximately 15 remains were in the tomb, according to initial accounts. In such circumstances, authorities are investigating and searching for those responsible. However, given that the remains were scattered, it will be difficult to recover them. The affected families are deeply distressed and are calling on the government to look into this increasingly common incident. This same weekend, three more tombs were also desecrated in Ambodiarina commune in Mahanoro district. The first tomb had missing remains, while the other two tombs had not yet been checked by their owners.
