Two years after their last appearance on this iconic stage, Ambondrona returns to Coliseum Antsonjombe. Scheduled for Sunday, September 27, 2026 from 3 p.m., the concert "Ambondrona – 25 taona isika, Ivony" marks the celebration of the band's 25-year career, which began in March at La City and will continue through 2027.

For this special date, the group has chosen to reimagine the stage space. The stage will be installed at the center of the Coliseum, giving its name to the event, "Ivony," which means precisely the center or middle. "The concert is called Ivony because the stage will be in the middle, at the center of the Coliseum," explains Beranto, the band's main composer and guitarist.

Three Hours

Rehearsals have been ongoing for several weeks in the studio to prepare for this major event. For nearly three hours, Ambondrona intends to retrace their musical journey, from their first pieces to their most recent creations. The audience will rediscover several titles that marked different stages in the band's history, up to "Toa Krismasy," a single released in December 2025. Written and composed by Beranto, this piece addresses nostalgia, distance, and the need to maintain connection with loved ones, particularly through video calls, during festive periods and difficult times.

This 25-year celebration is not limited to Antananarivo. Ambondrona has already taken this tour to several regions, including Fianarantsoa, Mahajanga, and Antsirabe.

Beyond the choice of stage and repertoire, Beranto emphasizes what he considers the band's identity. "We remain Ambondrona. What characterizes us is putting our hearts into all our stage performances and sharing with the public," he affirms.

After 25 years, Ambondrona is banking on sharing and musical memory to reconnect with their audience at the Coliseum. An event intended to bring together different generations around the songs that have marked the band's history.
