The Malagasy rapper triumphed in the "Rap Pro" category at the Kardo 2026 world final, held this weekend in Russia. A victory that places Madagascar at the top of this international competition dedicated to urban cultures and sports. "I am very happy, really very happy, but I still can't quite believe it," the artist confides. For Fab's Brownz, this consecration is not based on any particular formula. It is above all the fruit of constant work. "There's no real secret. I work, I train constantly and I always try to push my limits," he affirms. To this he adds prayer and humility. He also emphasizes a principle he considers essential: "I would say that discipline is also part of the secrets of success." During the final, the rapper notably performed a verse from "Ysist School," before continuing with "No way!", a new track that will appear on his upcoming album, "Bronze Is The New Gold". He considers this final as the most significant moment of his career so far. This victory also allows him to measure the growing place of the African continent in rap. "We can say that Africa is shining in rap," he believes. He notably cites Nairobi among his favorites during the competition. To reach the final, Fab's Brownz had to stand out among representatives from 30 countries. The selection was then reduced to 12 artists in the semi-final, then to six finalists. His performance notably caught the jury's attention for his artistic identity. "The jury members found my performance unique. I have a singular vocal timbre and the mix of Malagasy and English was new to them," he explains. On stage, the artist sought to give his best while remaining true to his style: interaction with the audience and jury, energy and stage presence inspired by his performances in Madagascar. A new album in preparation. This international distinction does not mark the end of a journey, but the beginning of a new chapter. The artist's most immediate project is the release of "Bronze Is The New Gold". Several dates and festival appearances are also planned. A return to California in 2027 for a festival is also being considered. Originally from Mahajanga, Fabiano Ranoelison, known as Fab's Brownz, has been involved in rap since 2017 and has been writing since age 15. Inspired by American rap codes, he develops a universe blending Malagasy, English and local slang, in which egotism and punchlines play an important role. He became known to the new generation with "OFF", before continuing his journey with several freestyles, including "Jersey Club", and his project "Bronze Is The New Gold".
