The Bamako International Festival of African Documentary (FIDAB) is preparing its next edition and officially launches its call for projects for its Documentary Writing Residency. Scheduled for January 8-14, 2027 in Mali's capital, this initiative offers a strategic springboard for creators from the continent and its diaspora. During seven days of intensive immersion, selected authors will benefit from the expertise of international mentors. The objective: refine their vision, structure their narrative and consolidate their entire production file to face the international market. Beyond technical learning, this week of workshops constitutes a privileged entry point into an African and global professional network. Eligible candidates must be African filmmakers or from the diaspora, currently working on a feature-length documentary project in development or pre-production phase. Project holders have until October 15, 2026 to submit their complete file in PDF format to the email address [email protected].
