At the heart of discussions: the progress of institutional reforms and preparations for upcoming electoral deadlines in the island nation. The continental organization praised the inclusive consultation dynamic underway in Madagascar. Bringing together civil society, the political class, youth, women, and former heads of state, this approach aims to build solid consensus. The stated objective remains organizing a transparent, credible election accepted by all, to prevent post-electoral crises. Among priority issues, the need for a new Constitution and establishing a reliable electoral register were emphasized. These lists must be accessible at fokontany level to guarantee complete transparency. Regarding the Independent National Electoral Commission (CENI), Siteny Randrianasoloniaiko, president of the National Assembly, stressed the importance of integrating opposition representatives and candidates to reassure all stakeholders. This meeting confirms the continued commitment of African partners alongside Malagasy institutions.
