Tiavina and Tahiry. Two young men reported missing since last Saturday have been found dead at two different locations in the Ikopa River. The circumstances of their deaths, marked by injuries found on their bodies, are raising concerns as the security situation continues to worry the population. The first body was discovered Tuesday, September 15, around 5:30 p.m., near Saropody Bridge. Alerted by the presence of a floating corpse, firefighters intervened to recover it. The victim was identified as Tiavina Rahajarivelo, cousin of Tolojanahary Tahiry Rakotoarisoa, also reported missing. Tiavina's body showed wounds and signs of trauma. The discovery prompted continued searches for his cousin, whose family had been without news for several days. Divers resumed searches yesterday morning, September 16. They led to the discovery of a second body in the Ikopa, near the Sanifer company. It was Tahiry. Again, injuries were found on the body. Suspicious Death The two men had not been heard from since Saturday, September 12, around 4 a.m. According to information from their relatives, they were last seen in the Ampamantanana area, with another indication pointing to Ankazolava as the last place they were spotted. Initial medical findings concluded the deaths were suspicious. At this stage, the hypothesis that the two victims were attacked before being thrown into the Ikopa is being considered, but the exact circumstances of their deaths remain to be determined by the investigation. The case is currently being handled by the Criminal Brigade (BC) of Anosy. Two young women, who are believed to have been the last people with the two men, are among those being questioned in the investigation. They were interviewed on site before being released. The investigation must establish the circumstances of the two men's disappearance, the exact causes of their deaths, and any responsibilities in this matter, which is already raising many questions in public opinion.
