Cases of missing persons have been multiplying recently, according to gendarmerie reports. The search that had raised concerns among residents of Androndra Ampanantanana turned tragic. Tiavina and Tahiry, two men and cousins, were found dead with their bodies floating in the Ikopa River. They were last seen alive on the night of Friday, September 11, after spending time with their family. Two young women reportedly took them out of the neighborhood: one lives locally and the other in Tanjombato. On Saturday, September 12, around 4 a.m., the family discovered the two men had not returned home. They began searching and launched an appeal for witnesses on social media. "There was commotion on Saturday afternoon at one of the women's homes and two unknown men forcibly took Tiavina and Tahiry by the collar of their clothes," said Njara Tahiana Rakotoarivelo, Tiavina's older brother. On Tuesday, September 15, around 5:30 p.m., firefighters received a call reporting a body floating near Saropody bridge in Tanjombato. After divers recovered it, it was identified as Tiavina. The family learned by phone that the body had been found in the water. The search continued yesterday morning and Tahiry's body was also found in the Sanifer area, still in the Ikopa River. Firefighter divers recovered the body. The two young women in question have already been questioned by criminal police in Anosy, though they denied the accusations during questioning by the family.
