After several weeks of hiatus, Vaovao 24-7 is back in service, but this time under a new name, as the online media created by Johary Ravoajanahary becomes News 24-7. A name change that comes with renovation, as this relaunch is accompanied by a redesign of formats and an expansion of the media's digital presence.
Sections: "While Vaovao 24-7 was primarily on Facebook, News 24-7 will have its own website and will also be present on LinkedIn, X and WhatsApp," announced Johary Ravoajanahary during a press conference held yesterday at the Les 3 Métis Antaninandro restaurant. The technical side will be handled by Sary sy Feo. News 24-7 will be bilingual, with some content offered in French alongside Malagasy.
As for sections, the main programs that made Vaovao 24-7 famous will be maintained, but with renewed formats. "Solanga" will continue to be presented by Johary Ravoajanahary, while "Tranga Miafina" will explore the less visible aspects of social phenomena. "Miondam-boky," the section dedicated to presenting and commenting on literary works, is now moving to video format, and "Salama," hosted by Dr Manitra Rakotoarivony, remains on the schedule. "Kronikan'i Johary Ravoajanahary" keeps its daily slot every evening at 7 p.m.
Editorial Independence: A new section called "Aiza'Zao," inspired by the "Whatever Happened To" style, is also launching to discuss Malagasy personalities who marked their era and tell what they have become. More broadly, News 24-7 aims to produce higher value-added content by seeking information little or not covered elsewhere and deepening certain topics beyond immediate news. This relaunch will also be marked by greater editorial independence. "We want to move closer to journalism standards practiced in major democracies, through affirmed editorial independence and by prioritizing topics with real news value," explained Johary Ravoajanahary.
