At the International Agriculture and Livestock Fair (FIA) 2026, held from September 10-13 at CCI Ivato, STAR once again demonstrated its strong commitment to developing Madagascar's rural sector. This participation coincides with the 50th anniversary of its subsidiary MALTO, a cornerstone of the barley industry on the island. For five decades, MALTO has embodied a successful model of local value creation. The company works closely with nearly 20,000 farming partners in Vakinankaratra, Amoron'i Mania, and Haute Matsiatra. By securing barley supplies for the brewing industry, the group generates sustainable economic benefits in rural communities. The event also showcased finalists of the 2026 Pierre Castel Prize, a competition dedicated to agricultural entrepreneurship with lasting impact. Beyond activities and new product discoveries at its stand, STAR participated in strategic sector discussions. During a panel on economic synergies, Seheno Randriambolamanana, STAR's communications director, emphasized that the group supports over 50,000 families, reaffirming the company's commitment to sustainable investment in local value chains.
