The Miss Madagascar Committee (CMM) has unveiled the 2026 schedule: the national grand final will take place on Saturday, December 19 in the capital. This exceptional evening will crown the young woman who will represent Madagascar at the 74th Miss World pageant, scheduled for Tanzania in May 2027.
Preparations are in full swing. Madazon Logistics will handle the air transport of the future winner to the international competition, while a major hotel in the capital will host the candidates for preparatory activities and the final evening.
The contest places regions at the heart of the selection process, true to its mission of reflecting the country's diversity. To date, 14 of Madagascar's 24 regions, as well as the Malagasy diaspora, are already represented. To complete this national mosaic, a new file-based selection phase will open starting tomorrow, September 17. It will allow young women from regions not yet represented to join the adventure and bring their story, culture, and identity to the national stage.
"This approach aims to sustainably establish the contest in a dynamic of proximity and representation of Malagasy diversity," emphasizes Christelle Rakotoniaina, president of the Miss Madagascar Committee. The CMM is also facilitating the establishment of regional committees to strengthen this local anchoring and ensure equitable participation from all territories.
Moreover, Miss World stands out for its Beauty With a Purpose philosophy, established since 1972. It is based on the idea that beauty must serve a cause. Each candidate is invited to present a social or humanitarian project, whether in education, health, environment, or solidarity, to demonstrate her commitment to her community. This segment is considered the most prestigious part of the contest, as it embodies Miss World's humanitarian mission.
With this in mind, the future Miss Madagascar will embody a youth proud of its roots, open to the world, and committed to development projects for her country.
