The 124 cooperative enterprises registered in Analamanga have received their biometric cards as part of the PNRDC. By pooling resources and facilitating access to markets, financing and outlets, cooperative societies strengthen producers. Through census and digitalization, the PNRDC aims to better structure these organizations. Formalization of cooperatives is progressing in the Analamanga region. In total, 124 cooperative societies in the Analamanga region received their biometric cards yesterday, following their registration under the National Program for Census and Digitalization of Cooperatives (PNRDC). Launched last week in Analamanga, this program aims to establish a reliable, verified and updated database of cooperatives operating in Madagascar. The 124 structures already registered operate notably in agriculture, livestock, crafts, tourism and transport. They registered with the Ministry of Industrialization and Private Sector Development (MIDSP) before receiving their biometric card. For the Minister of Industrialization and Private Sector Development, Ny Riana Nampoina Raharimanjato, cooperatives constitute a genuine lever for grassroots development. They contribute to structuring sectors, supporting productive activities and creating greater value at the local level. Strengthening these structures is thus considered an important element of economic growth dynamics. Extension to other regions. The operation will not stop at these 124 cooperatives. The census continues in Analamanga, while the program is also launching in the Atsinanana and Analanjirofo regions. The SAVA and Anôsy regions are among the next planned stages. Through this digitalization, the State intends to have better visibility over the national cooperative sector, particularly regarding its location, areas of activity and actual situation. These data should also enable better guidance of policies and support mechanisms for the sector. Note that the PNRDC is a project of the Malagasy State included in the General Policy of the State for Refoundation (PGE-R). It is implemented by the MIDSP, with financial support from the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP).
