Smiling students, supported to build their future. From missing canteens to school supplies and insufficient classrooms, several public schools face material difficulties. On the ground, these constraints directly affect students' daily lives and learning conditions. Access to school meals remains a particular concern. Some students arrive in class without having eaten enough. "Some students don't eat, they become weak and lose their motivation," says Brigitte, head of a public school interviewed. A situation that can make it harder for them to concentrate during lessons. School supplies are also an important need. In some schools, some students lack the necessary materials to follow lessons properly. "Here, students don't have the necessary supplies. Thanks to social initiatives, they can have the same opportunities as their classmates who have school supplies," says a school official. Added to this is the lack of classrooms. Faced with limited infrastructure capacity, some schools are forced to reorganize their students. "There are many of us here, we have to reorganize," explains Veromalala, a teacher in a public school. These difficulties show that the needs of public schools go beyond infrastructure. Food and school supplies remain essential to allow students to continue their education under better conditions. Faced with these needs, some associations carry out social initiatives in schools and families.
