Madagascar's population is called upon to play a central role in the National Dialogue. As initial consultations began on Monday, September 14 in the fokontany, the Ecumenical Council of Christian Churches of Madagascar (FFKM) encourages citizens to seize this opportunity to voice their concerns and participate in defining the changes expected in the country. For the FFKM, the stakes go beyond simply attending local meetings. The religious institution believes that Madagascar's transformation must also come from society itself. It thus invites everyone to contribute, present their expectations, and propose reform initiatives. This is a way of emphasizing that finding solutions to national challenges is not the exclusive responsibility of political leaders and institutions. The FFKM simultaneously stresses the need to prioritize dialogue between different segments of society. Disagreements should not prevent the search for common ground capable of generating shared solutions. The approach aims to give greater weight to citizens' voices before the higher stages of the National Dialogue. The scope of discussions promises to be particularly broad. Twelve themes are to be examined throughout the process. Governance and the foundations of Refoundation occupy an important place, alongside fundamental rights, economy, and sustainable development. Justice, security, and the rule of law will also be discussed. Other subjects directly affecting the organization and future of Malagasy society are planned. Social cohesion, solidarity, culture, national values, environment, and territorial planning are notably on the agenda. International relations and national sovereignty will also be addressed, as will decentralization, administrative reform, and public finance management. The situation of children, youth, and vulnerable persons is also among the concerns retained. The process must now advance in stages. After the fokontany, consultations are scheduled in communes starting October 5, then in districts on October 26. Regions will take over on November 16. All these contributions are to prepare for the National Dialogue expected in 2027.
