Latest figures from the Ministry of Labor show 4,234 young people trained and placed in the job market in 2026, against a target of 5,000. This result reflects the insertion efforts undertaken by current leaders, under the leadership of Col. Michaël Randrianirina, President of the Refoundation of the Republic of Madagascar. Training, career guidance, internships and employer connections have been the main tools deployed. Some 2,515 young people benefited from career guidance across the 23 regions. The ASANAI program received 4,695 applications. Of 335 selected young people, 236 were trained, 149 hosted for internships and 136 are now employed, including 58 on permanent contracts. The ASA 2026 Employment and Training Fair also demonstrates the strength of demand. The event attracted 22,300 visitors and collected 4,010 CVs, with 629 candidates selected. A market under pressure. These results must be viewed in light of the market's capacity to absorb job seekers. According to Employment Ministry data, in 2025, its services recorded 9,335 job seekers for only 3,440 offers. Between 2022 and June 2026, the ratio stands at 48,845 job seekers for 15,425 registered offers. Despite efforts made, the issue goes beyond unemployment. Challenges persist because not only must more opportunities be created, but young people must also be able to access sustainable jobs matching their skills.
