A ray of hope opens for Malagasy children suffering from cleft lip and palate, thanks to a free surgery campaign at CHU Anosiala in October. Led by WELL International and its partners, this initiative embodies medical solidarity and restores smiles to often disadvantaged families. The University Hospital Center of Anosiala, in partnership with NGO WELL International, is organizing a free surgery campaign from October 12-16, 2026, dedicated to children suffering from cleft lip and palate. This initiative aims to offer a new chance to families often struggling with a condition that affects not only health but also children's social integration. Cleft lip and palate, known locally as "sima molotra," is a congenital malformation manifested by an opening at the level of the lip or palate. Beyond aesthetic difficulties, it causes problems with feeding, breathing, and speech. In a country where access to specialized care remains limited, this free operation represents a true lifeline. Registration takes place from September 10-20, 2026 at the CHU Anosiala reception. Interested families can also contact WELL International directly. As the number of beneficiaries is limited, selection will be based on medical records and case urgency. This partnership illustrates the importance of medical cooperation in meeting the pressing needs of the population.
