The countdown has begun for Miss Madagascar 2026. The grand national final will take place this Saturday in Antananarivo. Following this evening, the winner will represent Madagascar at the 74th edition of Miss World, scheduled for Tanzania in May 2027. Preparations are already underway by the Miss Madagascar Committee (CMM), in collaboration with its various partners. On the logistics side, Madazon Logistics will notably ensure the air transport of the future winner for her journey to the international competition. In Antananarivo, a major hotel will also host the candidates during preparation activities and the grand final. The selection continues with its regional focus. To date, 14 of Madagascar's 24 regions are represented, plus the Malagasy diaspora. For regions not yet represented, a new file-based selection phase will open from Thursday, September 17. The CMM aims to make regional diversity a central element of the competition and allow young women to carry their territory, history, and culture to the national stage. "This approach aims to allow young women from different regions of the country to bring their territory, history, and culture to the national stage," explains Christelle Rakotoniaina, president of the Miss Madagascar Committee. The CMM is also working to establish and support regional committees to sustainably anchor the competition in a dynamic of proximity and representation of Malagasy diversity. It also wishes to mobilize partners sharing this vision to support this initiative and make this edition a showcase of Madagascar's youth and potential.
